The project empowers the local community to reimagine river use for transportation and leisure through site visits and interactive workshops with residents. Participants and organizers developed a deeper appreciation of how geography, infrastructure, and policy shape urban river use, while diverse perspectives surfaced hopes and challenges—from accessibility and transport connectivity to the river’s role as a shared recreational and cultural hub. These insights clarified how transportation, recreation, and community interests can converge to shape the riverscape, informing future initiatives that balance practicality, inclusivity, and sustainability in river development.HoRISEon

We are working with Cantonment Community Garden, a ground-up initiative founded by residents living in neighboring HDB blocks. The garden serves as a shared green space, where residents volunteer to help with upkeep. Our objectives for this project are to work alongside the residents to understand their needs, and develop sustainable, community-centric solutions. Through meetings with the garden’s EXCO, we have identified several potential ideas that we believe will be able to bring the diverse community of residents together.NeighbouRoots

Our IEx project, Food For Thought, has an overall aim of increasing awareness of food insecurity in Singapore through events that facilitate greater social cohesion and understanding of our topic of interest. Through various initiatives such as the booth set-up at Sengkang Eco Fest and the tote bag painting with elderly, we gained significant amounts of insight. Our project has taught us the importance of understanding the mindsets and emotions of those facing food insecurity as well as the unique struggles that they face. We also gained a more personal understanding of their stories and their needs.Food Fighters

Homes and Health: A Haven for Sex Workers
The Housing Project for Sex Workers
We aim to cultivate a sense of community among sex workers in Singapore. To this end, we intend to work with members of Project X (a local non-profit organisation) and sex workers to plan events such as pole dance, yoga, and karaoke, with the aim of cultivating a sense of belonging and mutual support. This was chosen in light of the fact that much of the efforts have been dedicated to immediate health issues of sex workers with little focus on long-term health outcomes of sex workers. Moreover, sex workers have been found to face issues surrounding housing and a sense of belonging in Singapore, especially if they are foreigners. We aim to cultivate a sense of community through creating a safe space where sex workers are able to interact with each other and provide support through informal conversations with each other. It seeks to establish a sustainable fridge in Ghim Moh and upgrade the existing fridge in Lengkok Bahru to reach more families, providing ongoing access to emergency food rations. Nourish to Flourish is a project that addresses the critical issue of food insecurity among rough sleepers in Singapore. Guided by a needs assessment conducted directly with the community, the project establishes a sustainable food distribution system in partnership with Homeless Hearts of Singapore (HHOS) and Free Food for All on the provision of Ready to Eat Meals. This collaborative approach provides regular, nutritious meals to rough sleepers in Harbourfront and Jurong East, aiming to alleviate their financial burdens and improve their overall physical and mental well-being. Sex workers in Singapore frequently face marginalization and a lack of support due to the stigma associated with their profession. Our IEX project seeks to challenge common misconceptions about the industry and foster a more respectful understanding of sex workers. The project's primary objective is to develop a card game designed to facilitate open conversations about sex work for anyone. Additionally, we intend for the game to function as a training resource for Project X volunteers, providing an engaging method for their education and sensitization regarding sex work. Team !ex Works

Voices in colour: Empowering Migrant Domestic Workers Through Art

Our IEx project was centred around a series of painting workshops designed for Foreign Domestic Workers (FDWs) in our partnership with the Centre for Domestic Employment. Our objectives for the workshops were to provide the foreign domestic workers with a safe and inclusive space for self-expression and creativity. Painting was used as a medium to amplify the voices of the FDWs. The workshops culminated in a final exhibition where their artworks were displayed. An intended outcome of the exhibition was that the FDWs would feel recognised and a sense of pride through the display of their creative expressions. Project Echo
