Supporting Child Development Through Social Design
Supporting Child Development Through Social Design
IEx Bandung
The Creative Kampung (“Cibunut”) lacks formal communal spaces for children to engage in educational activities despite the existence of underutilised spaces. The challenge lies in translating Cibunut's desire to provide educational spaces and resources to support children’s growth. Our IEx project aims to create a space for children to learn and bond with their community. After repurposing the Multi-Purpose Hall into a Children’s Corner, our subsequent visits involved the organisation and execution of education-based Community Workshops (“Workshop”) for children, promoting the love of reading through books written by the Cigondewah Bandung IEx’s Creative Project. DTK
Our IEx project’s overall objective is to help =Dreams establish and sustain their learning mentorship program for the long-run. The intended take-aways and outcomes include establishing a stable volunteer pipeline through setting up new and diverse partnerships for =Dreams (reaching out to clubs, societies and VIA programs in nearby JCs, Polytechnics and universities), and helping them create materials to support their secondary 4 early admissions exercise preparation program (such as lesson plans for the program). We will also be supporting new volunteers by mentoring them personally in our remaining time.DTK

Project AScenD
Project AScenD
Project AScenD Team
Project AScenD consisted of two components. First were the physical events with SAMS, including our World Book Day presentation. Second was the 2.5-months long penpal programme between SAMS and NYGH, where students sent letters to each other. Ultimately, Project AScenD aims to reduce stigma against children with ASD by fostering meaningful interactions between neurotypical children and children with ASD. We seek to spread awareness about and correct misconceptions associated with ASD, in hopes of inspiring the general public, especially the neurotypical population, to engage with those with ASD to promote understanding and broaden perspectives about those different from them.Project AScenD Team

By working with a primary school, we aim to improve the state of English education and literacy in Thanh An through a two-pronged approach: improving existing educational resources and community engagement. First prong: Thanh An Primary School’s English resources, while substantial, are too advanced and thus less able to generate interest. Thus, we intend to curate English resources that are more learner-appropriate and beginner-friendly, alongside materials like comic books that better align with students’ interests that will better supplement existing library resources. We also set up a scrabble-like interactive wall installation that allows students to learn English through fun and collaborative ways (such as playing Wordle).Second prong: We intend to organise an English language workshop towards the end of the project for students and their parents which would promote the value of English. We also intend to create an English-Vietnamese card game which parents can play with their children such that English learning can be sustained outside of the classroom. This card game aims to introduce simple daily phrases to the vocabulary of the children, who had previously only been introduced to repetitive, unvaried vocabulary from their English textbooks. Project SHINE was designed with the intended outcome of building confidence in ethnic minority youth through mentorship, cultural exchange, and exposure to educational or professional opportunities beyond their community. The 2-part project consisted of a 3D2N physical summer camp to HCMC followed by a 10-week online mentorship program. The summer camp consisted of campus-style workshops, amazing races and city walks. This develops the students’ curiosity, forge meaningful bonds and overcome their fears. Through the online mentorship, we aimed to deepen students' motivation, develop life skills and english language capabilities, and improve students' aspiration towards higher education.19FGV

Career-ious Minds
Our IEx project with Impart SG supports at-risk youths who face barriers in accessing education and career opportunities. Through initiatives like our Polytechnic Tour and Human Library, we exposed participants to diverse post-secondary options and connected them with mentors and alumni. Building on this foundation, our next phase focuses on preparing youths for Polytechnic and ITE Early Admission Exercise interviews through a card game that promotes confidence, adaptability, and self-expression. By combining play and learning, we aim to empower youths to articulate their strengths, make informed educational choices, and inspire confidence in pursuing their aspirations.Career-ious Minds

Integrating Gamification into Tuition Learning
Integrating Gamification into Tuition Learning
Team Sprouts
Our project had the objective of improving academic outcomes and motivation for learning through providing the students at MKFC (Mighty Kids, Families & Community) with a structured, gamified tutoring programme. This would be achieved through:Team Sprouts
- Providing the centre with a qualitative assessment of each student’s academic and character traits, and how they developed over time, through a spreadsheet we populated based on our observations of each student during tutoring sessions.
- Developing students’ academic foundations in an engaging manner through collaborative games and structured learning exercises, intended to be used as a guide for future ad-hoc volunteers.

“Where in the World is Carmen, Cebu?” Marrying Sustainable Bamboo Architecture with Educational Programming
“Where in the World is Carmen, Cebu?” Marrying Sustainable Bamboo Architecture with Educational Programming
Diwata
Our project aims to collaborate with Alhibé Farm to create a sustainable community library for the children in Sac-on, Carmen, Cebu. To address the lack of safe recreational and educational spaces in the barangay, the project seeks to tap on existing bamboo architecture in Alhibé Farm with educational materials to provide a public space where children can play, bond, and nurture their interest in reading. Through book drives, our group helps source and support the community library, and assist Sac-on Elementary School and Elpidio de Dios Elementary School in building their own libraries. This project aspires to give the community the resources and space to improve educational access and foster an appreciation for sustainability.Diwata

Think.Eat.Hack!
Think.Eat.Hack!
Think.Eat.Hack!
Think.Eat.Hack is a youth-focused hackathon designed to help junior college and secondary school students understand the food landscape and the pressing issue of food waste. Through themed tracks—Prevention, Recovery, and Awareness—participants will learn to identify causes, explore constraints, and design practical interventions, from policy ideas to tech prototypes. The event fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, providing a safe space to iterate, refine, and test solutions, and think critically and creatively about ideas. Beyond technical skills, the hackathon cultivates empathy, responsibility, and an understanding of how small, creative interventions can influence large-scale change in sustainability and community well-being.Think.Eat.Hack!
