Sustainable Experiences
We work together with Burapha University to support Pa Phuek, the oyster farming community leader of Khao Sam Muk, in her Community Enterprise Program. The initiative transforms discarded oyster shells into art pieces and tourist experiences that generate alternative income for local farmers. Our team contributes through product development, marketing, and outreach to broaden the program’s reach and sustainability. The project aims to reduce environmental waste while empowering the community through creative reuse. We take away a deeper appreciation for collaboration and the power of sustainable design, believing that Pa Phuek’s success reflects the success of her entire community.Sustainable Experiences

Empowering the Bajau Laut Youth: Building Pathways to Financial Independence
Empowering the Bajau Laut Youth: Building Pathways to Financial Independence
SKYRICA
Our project partners with Borneo Komrad, a youth-led organisation supporting stateless Bajau Laut communities in Semporna through education and social entrepreneurship. Together with student leaders, we work with 6–8 youth aged 17–21 who seek financial independence by producing and selling crafts and merchandise. Through startup funding, workshops, and tailored English instruction, we help them develop financial literacy, marketing, and customer engagement skills. Building on Borneo Komrad’s cultural ties and community initiatives, the project provides resources, confidence, and opportunities for the youth to pursue sustainable livelihoods while strengthening their leadership within their community.SKYRICA

Bamboobon
Bamboobon empowers rural farmers and artisans in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, to build sustainable bamboo-based livelihoods. The project began with establishing the Bamboo Learning Center for bamboo cultivation, treatment, and knowledge exchange, alongside documenting bamboo use cases across Southeast Asia. Over time, it has evolved to focus on hands-on handicraft workshops where villagers create bamboo products that are later sold in Singapore through pop-ups and events. Bamboobon also conducts workshops for students, fostering awareness of sustainability and community entrepreneurship. Together, these efforts aim to strengthen rural economies and promote inclusive, design-driven development.Bamboobon

Aruga
Aruga has created Bambubuyog (a portmanteau of ‘bamboo’ and ‘bubuyog’, the Filipino word for bee) – a business that empowers Filipino farmers and beekeepers through sustainable stingless beekeeping. Using locally sourced bamboo treated in the most natural ways, we make beekeeping affordable, enabling farmers to pollinate their crops while generating income from honey, propolis and pollen. Bambubuyog creates a circular economy that connects farmers in rural Philippines with premium markets locally and abroad. We intend to improve local livelihoods, food security and conservation efforts while promoting community initiatives that improve agriculture and agrotourism.Aruga

Improving Community-Based Sustainability Efforts in Gili Balu
Improving Community-Based Sustainability Efforts in Gili Balu
Jelajah Lestari
Gili Balu Marine Park faces growing interest from tourists, but the local community are not benefitting from this increased tourist activity. In response, Juang Laut Lestari (JARI) aims to build capacity amongst the local community for community-based tourism, but current efforts are too activity-based and lack in-depth knowledge sharing. We aim to improve the ecotour program by micro job opportunities for fishermen and housewives, promoting sustainable livelihoods that protect the environment and celebrate the cultural heritage of the Bajo people. So far, we have drafted maps and guidebooks to support their ecotour activities.Jelajah Lestari
