Expanding Digitalisation Efforts of Healthcare Records in Kampong Chhnang
Our project aims to improve the maternal patient detail records systems in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia. This would be done through the creation of a secure database, frontend, backend, complemented with a hybrid training programme. Our group is partnering with the Water and Healthcare Foundation(WAH) for their expertise in both the Cambodian healthcare sector as well as experience in training and educating healthcare workers. Our approach in tackling the lack of digital infrastructure for maternal health records keeping aims to not only provide the digital infrastructure, but also the training necessary to ensure that these digital databases are maintained and used correctly. Our group is committed to overcoming the friction of change by adopting a hybrid approach in the training, utilising both physical sessions where we train them directly as well as self-produced digital resources. We will combine this with booklets and pamphlets that help to serve as reminders for teaching new healthcare workers or in the event that some of them need a refresher. We aim to adopt a “train the trainer” approach, such that those who learn the functionalities of the app are also able to teach the other healthcare workers, enhancing the sustainability of the project.Project Country: CambodiaProject Supervisor: Dr Alberto Perez PereiroGroup Ref: 25CCAP02R
Digitalizing NGO Workflows
19F Titans
Caregivers in Singapore face isolation, burnout, and limited support. Befriending services offer a promising solution, but their success is predicated on the proper matching of befrienders with beneficiaries. However, this process is extremely tedious and currently done manually, resulting in agencies, like The Compassionate Network, struggling to meet increasing demand. Our project seeks to help address this issue by exploring how we can leverage technology to automate this workflow.Project Country: SingaporeProject Supervisor: Dr May LimGroup Ref: 25STMY01
Fighting Scams with Tech
ScamBusters
Our project addresses increasing threats of online scams and misinformation in Singapore, which has led to significant financial losses and negative social effects. We will work closely with CheckMate, an organisation with an AI-powered chat bot that screens messages for scams or misinformation, and we want to enhance the speed and reliability of this verification system. We hope to shorten the time between when users submit content and when they receive the verification response. Additionally, we hope to improve the quality of explanations the AI gives in explaining whether it is a scam or misinformation. Our target audience is the public, with a focus on “young seniors” aged 50 to 64, who, according to CheckMate, are at the highest risk of being victims of scams. We will work closely with CheckMate and incorporate user feedback to ensure we can improve their system and meet community needs and wants. Nurturing Growth: Automating Insights for Social Impact
BaowerBuff Girls
Our project aims to tackle Babes Pregnancy Crisis Support Ltd (Babes)'s lack of time to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of their programmes by co-developing an automated programme evaluation workflow with their programme ICs. In doing so, we hope to resolve the time constraints currently hindering effective and insightful programme evaluation, allowing Babes to generate reliable insights for the continuous enhancement of their programmes even during their busiest periods.Project Country: SingaporeProject Supervisor: Dr May LimGroup Ref: 25STMY03
