We will embark on IEx projects in Chiang Mai on a diverse (and adventurous) range of themes, including rural development, cultural heritage management, and local historiography. Some of the particular issues we will address include forest resources and livelihoods among indigenous upland peoples; statelessness and social marginalization; woodworking and related crafts; food and social change; language, literacy, and the maintenance of cultural heritage; and locally developed technology for problem solving. We will accommodate a wide array of interests and skillsets that intersect with these topics in challenging and creative ways.
