IEx Eastern Thailand: Tourism development – Winners, Losers, and Alternatives

Thailand offers a wide range of tourist activities and is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. In IEx Eastern Thailand, we will look at the implications of tourism development for local life, culture, and environment. We will work closely with local communities, local institutions and relevant local authorities, to understand the backgrounds and needs of the communities, and work with them collaboratively to initiate product and program development projects that are sustainable and accessible. Possible projects include documentation of local heritage, development of local products and programs, and designing of education and training programs for local communities.
